  • Citrus is dedicated to providing comprehensive mental and behavioral health services, and our Assessment and Emergency Services are the crucial starting point for those seeking help. Whether facing a mental health crisis or in need of a standard intake assessment, our team of professionals conducts thorough assessments to design personalized treatment plans. With 24/7 availability, we ensure prompt intake assessments and emergency screenings, guiding individuals towards the support they need to improve their mental well-being.

  • Citrus plays a critical role as the primary provider of emergency mental health services in Miami-Dade County, offering the sole Children's Crisis Stabilization Unit (CCSU) available 24/7 for adolescents in crisis. As a Baker Act receiving facility, it delivers intensive services to stabilize and assess adolescents before directing them to the most suitable care setting. Additionally, the Citrus CCSU houses a co-located Juvenile Addictions Receiving Facility for adolescents struggling with substance use.

  • Citrus offers specialized inpatient services for adolescents with significant behavioral or psychiatric needs who haven't found relief through other intensive treatments. These programs are designed to bring stability and support, enabling a safe return to their families and communities. Individualized treatment plans encompass psychiatric and primary medical care, clinical therapy, life skills training, and education from certified teachers during their stay. After transitioning back to the community, clients are connected with tailored aftercare mental health services, school support, and access to essential community and family resources.

  • Citrus boasts an expansive clinical staff of over 20 psychiatrists, psychologists, Licensed Clinical Social Workers, and Licensed Mental Health Counselors, ensuring the provision of comprehensive outpatient services for diagnosing and treating individuals with mental and behavioral health conditions. The outpatient services encompass psychiatric evaluations, outpatient psychiatry, medication management, as well as individual, group, and family therapy tailored to children, adolescents, and families. This inclusive approach extends to victims of sexual abuse and juvenile sex offenders, offering specialized support for those in need.

  • Citrus's Children's Community Teams provide invaluable in-home therapeutic and family support services for children and adolescents requiring more intensive care than traditional outpatient settings, yet not necessitating an inpatient environment. These specialized teams work with young individuals often at risk of out-of-home placements, like child welfare, and residential or juvenile justice programs, which may not be the most suitable treatment options. By forming multidisciplinary treatment teams, comprising mental and behavioral health professionals, Citrus ensures close collaboration with the child and their family to assess needs and design a recovery plan emphasizing stabilization, skill development, and continued community engagement.

  • Citrus offers this service exclusively to clients receiving services within the Children Community Teams and Foster Care Teams. Providing continuous support services for children and adolescents with severe and long-term mental illness, as well as their families. Through personalized care plans, case managers collaborate with clients and their families to assess needs, coordinate services, and connect them to community resources, fostering healthy growth, and development while enabling the child to remain in their own home and school.

  • For more than 30 years, Citrus Health Network has been a dedicated provider of Foster Care services, focusing on children with emotional and behavioral needs, victims of commercial sexual exploitation, and homeless LGBTQ youth. Citrus recruits, trains, and licenses prospective foster parents, equipping them with essential strategies for handling diverse behaviors. Children are placed in therapeutic foster homes and community/residential group homes that best cater to their unique requirements. • Citrus plays a crucial role in a collaborative effort with the Miami-Dade Department of Juvenile Justice, delivering vital behavioral and mental health services. This partnership encompasses evaluation, psychotherapy, and clinical case management, and referral to psychiatric service for adolescents referred by DJJ for juvenile sexual offender treatment.

  • A multidisciplinary team of Clinicians/Subject Matter Experts enhancing Child Protection Services in Miami-Dade County to increase family safety by consulting with the Florida Department of Children and Families Child Protective Investigators (CPI) on cases that present with possible mental health, substance use, domestic violence, and behavioral concerns and CWIST Family Navigators to provide guidance and linkage to services as recommended.
